During our Sunday morning service, we have three programs for your kids:
Nursery/Preschoolers for babies up through 4-year-olds
Kids@theRidge for Kids in Kindergarten through Grade 3
FUEL for our Grade 4 through 7 students
Check-in your kids when you arrive at our check-in area at the back of the main gathering space. You'll receive a name tag for your child and a security code that you as the caregiver will use when you pick them up at the end of the service. After checking in, kids stay with their caregivers during songs and announcements and then are prayed for and dismissed to walk to their classes with their leaders.
We also provide a kids area in our gathering with a table, some quiet toys, and books. Feel free to wander over there and use the supplies with your little ones if they want to stay with you in the service. Sometimes, kids will need extra support and closeness before they are ready to try new classes, and that’s ok. Our prayer is that both our programmed classes and kids’ area in the gym will support you and your child in worshipping together with us.

Who are we?
Fuel is our preteen ministry for kids from grades 4 to 7. We meet to learn how to read our Bibles and follow Jesus, ask questions, play games, and support each other. We hope you come and try it out!

2024 Changes
This year we are working to rebuild and redefine our FUEL programming on Sunday mornings during our gatherings. Previously, we met on Monday nights, but this year we have decided to move our main programming to Sunday mornings so we can provide a space for our preteens to worship with their peers during the gathering. We also try to plan the occasional FUEL Fun Days to hang out and play laser tag, board games, or other fun things (sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date). In the summer, FUEL will transition to a time of bi-monthly outdoor events! If you are interested in helping out with this group on Sunday mornings, we would love to hear from you! Why Preteen Ministry?
Life as a preteen can be a little tricky (or a lot tricky!). We get that. We have found that friendships can get a little more tricky, school can begin to be more demanding, not to mention the mental and physical growth. With more independence and maturity comes a growing list of expectations and responsibilities that can be both exciting and exhausting. Our preteens have let us know that sometimes they just need to have the responsibilities and weight lifted for a bit so they can just be a kid and at other times they want more challenge and space to lead and grow.
At FUEL, our goal is to create a space where preteens can meet Jesus in the mix of all that and discover God's voice. We try to make space for a laughs, deep conversations, silly conversations, and a good game at most of our times together.

The Purpose of JRCC Kids ministry is to cultivate young disciples of Jesus who embody God's love everywhere they go.
Children are required to check in at the K@TR kiosk where they receive a name tag/security tag. The child's caregiver will receive a matching security tag that they will use when picking their child up from the class.
Volunteers are vetted through an interview, application, and references check process. Those who are age 18 and older must also submit a Vulnerable Sector check through the RCMP prior to volunteering. Each year we review and train our staff and volunteers on our safety policies and procedures and continue to work at implementing and following best practices in abuse prevention and awareness.
